The Van

The Bikes

Cycling Country only uses top quality bicycles for your cycling pleasure. We have a range of hybrid and road bicycles (all less than two years old) and all selected for their handling, reliability and ease of use on paved roads. Of course, you are free to bring your own bike, but if you do wish to use one of ours, please notify us of your height when booking.

TREK hybrid touring bikes:

- A TREK hybrid road bike fitted to your measurements with upright geometry for total comfort
- Light weight alumunium tubing
- Road wheels and tyres (700 x 32)
- SHIMANO transmission
- 21-27 speeds with a wide ranging gear ratio (to get you up and down those hills at your own speed)
- Kevlar belted tyres to limit those annoying punctures

ORBEA road bikes:

Are you a roadie? Then this is the bike for you that is guaranteed enjoyment on the open road.

- A fast and smooth ride on a classic ORBEA road bike

- Light weight mix of carbon forks/seat post and alu tubing

- SHIMANO Ultegra and 105 components

- Triple chainset (10 speed)

- SHIMANO road wheels (RS-500) (700 x 23)

Each bicycle is tuned-up and prepared prior to your arrival on the tour. If you have any troubles with the bike, an experienced mechanic will be there to solve any problems.

Extras that are included:

- Waterbottle (new and yours to keep)
- Front handlebar bag to carry your day items with map pouch (please note, a small seat post bag is fitted to the Orbea road bikes instead)
- Puncture repair and basic toolkit (don't forget the support van is never that far away to help you out)
- Toe clips and straps (if requested)
- Lock
- Bell to move those sheep off the road
- We will also fit your favourite pedals or saddle if requested

The Vans

We have thought carefully about your comfort and pleasure when being transferred, and our customised vans are made for the job. As the guided tours are fully supported, the van is an integral part of the trip.

The van will be out on the road everyday, sweeping the route, offering supplies and refreshments. If you don't like the look of the next hill or have just had enough for the day, jump in the van and watch the countryside whirl past from a relaxed, airconditioned setting.

It is possible for those non-cycling partners or friends to come along and ride in the van each day.

Each van is equipped to carry your luggage, bicycles, spares and of course you, giving you the abililty to travel in style and luxury when necessary. Although this is a cycling holiday, we have not forgotten about those times when a transfer is unavoidable.
