Quality Hotels & Inns
A hot, pulsating landscape to conquer stacks of summits and a finish down at the Mediterranean. A perfect trip for enthusiastic road lovers with some great cultural stops too. Pedal past hillside castles, mountain top villages and descend the most epic downhill you ever imagined!
If you want a week of thrilling self-guided road cycling in Spain, then this tour is the one for you. Riding this route by bike is challenging but all efforts will be rewarded tenfold by the exciting and ever shifting landscape you breath in. Frontiers of the Moorish rule, the towns have not forgotten their heritage and with the spectacular views and hearty food, you won’t either. Taking in the 3 provinces of Granada, Cordoba and Málaga, this tour brings into play roads taken by the pros in the Vuelta a España and Andalucía. Climbing passes used since the dawn of time, the natural geographic diversity is overwhelming and the glide back to the Mediterranean via a true mountain descent is an unforgettable delight.

After a fine breakfast, start the day ascending from a valley bottom to see views of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada. Pass by a shimmering lake before stopping for your (first) coffee of the day at the local cyclists´ favourite cafe. Spin through asparagus fields before climbing to the picturesque sighted village of Montefrio, its castle and church hanging spectacularly from the rock-side

74km or 112km/46miles or 70miles (1815m elevation gain - long route)
Enter the land of rolling olive groves and Moorish watchtowers from the hilltops before finishing the day near the classic baroque town of Priego.
